How long should you stay in Oaxaca?

This city is so magical you’ll never want to leave! But you can explore the main points of interest during a weekend trip. 3-4 days can get you the full Oaxacan experience.

If you have more time to spare, I highly recommend extending your stay. A week or more would allow you to take day trips to nearby towns. You’ll be able to visit local markets and attend cultural events or festivals. Like La Guelaguetza, which is a festival in celebration of Oaxaca’s indigenous cultures.
